What to do if you are not satisfied

If you are not satisfied with any decision made by the Water Grid Manager in relation to a Right to Information or Information Privacy application you made, you may request a review. There are two options available:

  • an internal review
  • an external review (if you do not wish to take advantage of an internal review or if you are dissatisfied with the result of an internal review).

Requesting an internal review

If you wish to apply for an internal review, you must do so in writing within 20 business days of being told of the decision.

A person senior to the original decision-maker, and who was not involved in processing your original application, will conduct the internal review and inform you of the decision within 20 business days. You will be given reasons if access or an amendment is still refused.

To apply for an internal review, submit a written application to our Right to Information Officer.

Requesting an external review

If you wish, you may write to the Information Commissioner to apply for an external review.

The Information Commissioner may change or confirm the decision made on your Right to Information or Information Privacy request, or try to mediate a settlement between the parties.

For more information about requesting an external review, visit the Office of the Information Commissioner.
