Our operations

The Water Grid Manager's key responsibility is to efficiently and effectively manage the operation of the newly-established Water Grid, consistent with:

• The South East Queensland System Operating Plan (System Operating Plan)
• The Market Rules SEQ Water Market (Market Rules)
• associated legislative and regulatory requirements.

We do the following to manage the operation of the Water Grid:

• optimise water security across South East Queensland by strategically instructing water production and transport action across the Water Grid while complying with the System Operating Plan objectives
• manage water quality by monitoring the compliance of the bulk water organisations with contractual water quality specifications
• manage the financial transactions, balance sheet and debt profile for our organisation
• optimise and manage the Water Grid’s debt profile
• implement a risk management framework in partnership with other Grid Participants
• foster and implement a number of good industry practice projects, in partnership with Grid Participants.
